Our client a major player in Australias transport and infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Manager to oversee end-to-end maintenance delivery across a large-scale safety-critical transport environment. Working as part of a high-performing multi-disciplinary team this role focuses on ensuring that mechanical systems across a newly built underground transport network operate reliably safely and in line with strict technical and legislative standards.
This role suits a hands-on leader with strong technical foundations excellent coordination skills and the ability to manage contractors schedules and compliance in a complex asset ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee planned and reactive maintenance for mechanical building services
Coordinate fire testing and maintain service documentation for compliance
Ensure the CMMS is updated with accurate asset and inspection data
Supervise contractors and maintenance personnel and confirm required inductions/qualifications
Work closely with operational stakeholders and the network operator
Ensure all work is delivered safely and in accordance with Zero Harm principles
Manage resource planning scheduling and workflow optimisation
Conduct site inspections audits and risk assessments
Prepare maintenance reports covering performance compliance and risks
Support the transition from mobilisation into steady-state long-term operations
Requirements
Qualifications:
Trade qualification (mechanical or related discipline) or equivalent experience
Experience & Skills:
Strong background in mechanical building services maintenance
Leadership capability across contractors and maintenance teams
Experience in safety-critical environments (rail or equivalent)
Knowledge of BMS systems AS1851 compliance and building codes
Strong communication stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
Able to work shifts overtime and participate in an on-call rotation
Knowledge of OHS&E regulations and safe work practices
Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office
