Your Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager Care Support Services to lead the delivery of a suite of out of home care programs delivered to the Mallee District Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.
Program delivery includes Residential Care Home Based Care with Kinship Care and First Supports Aboriginal Child Specialist Advice and Support Services (ACSASS) Targeted Care Packages (TCP) Better Futures Culture Support Plans and Aboriginal Lead Family Decision Making (AFLDM).
Reporting to the General Manager Families and Communities the Manager Care Support Services is responsible for the day-to-day operational management.
This includes managing a diverse team of staff in addition to managing service delivery ensuring continuous improvement risk management and quality assurance are achieved and accreditation standards are met or exceeded at all times. Responsibilities also include managing internal and external data information systems that support program requirements including but not limited to the following WCES IRIS CRIS/CRISSP SHIP CIMS and Child Safe Practices systems.
This position is permanent full time and based in our Mildura head office location.
Key Selection Criteria
Demonstrated leadership and management ability including staff development and change management within a Family & Community services setting.
Demonstrated ability to communicate consult liaise and negotiate with a broad range of people both Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal people at all levels to achieve broad project objectives and goals.
Experienced working independently under broad direction to plan activities and set priorities that achieve objectives and meet deadlines often in a context of conflicting priorities.
Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people particularly those relevant to Family and Community. Knowledge of current national and state government strategies and initiatives. Comprehensive knowledge of the Child and Families Act 2005.
Experience in taking action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services
Qualification/s:
Tertiary qualifications in Community Services or Management or related field and demonstrated relevant experience.
Other Screening Requirements:
Valid Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.
Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card.
National Police Check.
