About the role
Are you passionate about shaping a greener future and influencing how businesses deliver on sustainability Join us as a Sustainability Manager for the UK & Ireland where you will lead the development of a compelling sustainability vision and action plan that aligns with our Group strategy and meets the ambitions of our customers.

In this active role you will:
- Develop and deliver a clear measurable sustainability roadmap for UK&I that supports our Group targets and strengthens customer partnerships
- Act as the focal point for sustainability collaborations with strategic customers building joint roadmaps and identifying new opportunities for partnership
- Create competitive action plans that enhance customer engagement and position DS Smith as a leader in sustainability
- Support top opportunities and tenders by showcasing our sustainability credentials and provide training and tools to empower the sales organization
- Lead on disclosures and reporting across key topicscircularity carbon nature and communitiesbuilding analytical expertise and ensuring robust governance
- Build relationships with external stakeholders including industry bodies NGOs and government organizations and represent DS Smith at events and trade fairs
- Work closely with Sales Marketing Innovation and Operations to align internal actions with customer ambitions and regulatory requirements
We are seeking a sustainability leader with strong strategic thinking stakeholder management skills and the ability to turn complex challenges into actionable plans. You will have expertise in sustainability topics such as carbon circularity and social impact combined with the confidence to engage customers and influence internal teams. About you
- Demonstrated business experience with experience within Sustainability roles
- A degree or equivalent in Business Marketing Engineering or Sustainability
- Experience within a Packaging environment is highly advantageous but not essential
- Proven success knowledge and experience of analytical experience and strong business acumen at a senior level
- Proven ability to intelligently operate and navigate in a multinational corporation
- Excellent communication and presenting skills and stakeholder management with ability to collaborate and develop strong relationships with internal and external partners
- Drive determination and resilience with energy enthusiasm and a can-do attitude and behaviours
Location: This is a home-based role with travel to sites in UK&I as required.
