Dematic is seeking a Logistics Buyer to join our Customer Service Materials Management team. This person will be responsible for buying activities and objectives within a high volume high mix product environment. This is a critical role in ensuring that our Customer Service team delivers quality products on time. The successful candidate will be eager to accept additional responsibilities and is seeking career advancement opportunities within our growing organization.
The Logistics Buyer is expected to be fast-paced data-driven and communicative with all internal and external stakeholders as necessary. The candidate must be methodical in developing action plans managing on-site deliveries to our warehouse customers various projects and interacting with our suppliers and internal customers. We are looking for someone who can pivot quickly and strives for continuous improvement.

What You Will do in This Role:
- Participates in semi-complex buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely delivery of supplies and materials and expedites as necessary. Effectively manage supply programs to meet lead times as well as delivery dates for projects and sales orders.
- Procure and manage material to meet quality delivery inventory and price targets (use SAP).
- Own daily working relationships with suppliers category leaders and project leaders within the Parts Logistics Team. Effectively communicate with and engage all levels of the organization as well as key suppliers and customers.
- Assess demand and place purchase orders for Spare Part purchases. Review incoming orders verify ship dates and communicate with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and expedite order delivery as needed.
- Maintain material master data on assigned part numbers in SAP.
- Act as the point of contact with suppliers. May participate in negotiation of prices terms and quality requirements.
- Support supplier quality and supplier development activities including monitoring and improving delivery reliability and lead time reduction.
- Support escalation process with suppliers based on scorecards etc.
- Resolve semi-complex delivery quality or other related problems with invoices or purchases.
- Ensures purchase orders are compliant legally and have the proper customer flow downs and specifications of purchase.
- Other duties as assigned including potential cross functional work
What Were Looking For:
- 6 years of experience in Purchasing or Material Management. Manufacturing environment preferred. Candidate will ideally have experience in both fields including leading small to large scale projects in both.
- Demonstrates good grasp of knowledge of the field.
- 3 Years of experience with SAP desirable.
- Bachelors Degree preferred ideally in Supply Chain Management Finance Marketing Engineering or Business.
- CPIM or CSCP preferred but not necessary.
- Lean Six Sigma Green belt preferred.
- Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts practices and procedures of Supply Chain Management.
- Strong knowledge of SupplyON SAP and EDI transmission of the procure-to-pay process including data elements.
- Advanced knowledge and strong utilization of Microsoft applications including Excel PowerPoint and Word.
- Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in PowerBI including dashboard creation maintenance and upgrade
- Familiarity with AI including utilization and application in Materials Management and Procurement
- Ability to communicate and build relationships both internally across all functional organization and externally with supplies and customers.
- Lean and Continuous Improvement strategy strongly preferred.
- Ability to implement efficiencies in SAP to reduce the number of PO transactions. Need to be able to drive SAP changes within the organization.
- Strong background in building and maintaining reports related to Supply Chain industry
- Proven track record of leading meetings training and mentoring other Buyers
- Demonstrated experience driving cost savings via projects initiatives and process improvement
- Proven track record of leading meetings training and mentoring other Buyers
- Familiarity with warranty and reverse logistics processes
- Ability to work independently and make sound business decisions
