Were excited to offer an opportunity for a Finance Specialist to join our Corporate Finance Team in Ottawa. In this role youll collaborate closely with a team of finance and accounting professionals on data clean-up initiatives special projects and process improvements across multiple entitiesgaining valuable exposure to data analysis financial operations and full-cycle accounting. This is contract position for a 12 month period with the possibility of extension.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform reconciliations and related accounting tasks to support the full-cycle accounting process including journal entry preparation.
- Conduct data clean-up validation and analytical reviews of financial information to ensure data integrity and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to special projects involving process automation financial reporting enhancements and system improvements.
- Help prepare financial reports and summaries for internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams on various finance-related tasks and deliverables.
- Provide general support to the Corporate Finance team as needed.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent in relevant work experience. CPA designation or near competition is considered an asset.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
