We are looking for an experienced Operations Risk & Control Manager to join a leading global financial institution in Warsaw. This pivotal role sits within the Operations function and is responsible for strengthening the first line of defence (1LOD) by developing and implementing robust risk and control frameworks. The position plays a critical role in ensuring operational resilience regulatory compliance and process efficiency across global operations.
As Operations Risk & Control Manager you will lead a team of risk and control analysts oversee key operational processes and act as a trusted advisor to senior management. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and deep operational risk expertise.

Hybrid model / onsite for 3-4 days per week
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and maintain an effective 1LOD risk management framework aligned with corporate and regulatory standards.
- Perform risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate operational risks.
- Manage business continuity and disaster recovery plans including scenario testing for critical services.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including client money oversight and CMAR reporting.
- Act as a key liaison for regulatory audits and inspections.
- Deliver accurate and timely risk and control reporting to senior management and committees.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency without compromising controls.
- Oversee reconciliations payment workflows and operational data integrity.
- Drive system enhancement initiatives in collaboration with vendors and IT teams.
- Lead mentor and develop a team of seven fostering a high-performance culture and promoting diversity and inclusion.
The Ideal Candidate Will Bring:
- In-depth knowledge of trade flow and front-to-back operational processes.
- Strong understanding of CASS Rules cash equity derivatives and fixed income products.
- Proven experience in operational risk management regulatory compliance and reporting.
- Excellent organizational leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Familiarity with systems such as IntelliMATCH Duco Kyriba Finastra Phase3 and Crest GUI.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical skills.
