    REPORTS TO:Principal

    JOB GOAL:To meet the academic and social-emotional needs in relationship to specific needs of all students under their direction

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Establishes positive and respectful relationships with students andtheir families to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning for all students
    2. Designs and delivers lesson plans that align with grade level state standards rigor and meet the needs of diverse learners demonstrating teacher clarity and a clear measurement of student learning
    3. Administers summative and formative student assessments analyzes and uses the results to develop lessons that progress students towards meeting learning goals
    4. Differentiates instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners including English Language Learners students with disabilities and students with different learning styles in the classroom
    5. Provides in-school intervention and enrichment opportunities to meet students specific linguistic and academic needs
    6. Communicates regularly with students and their families to keep them informed about childs progress and engages them in the learning process
    7. Collaborates with other teachers administrators and support staff to support student learning and builds a strong professional learning community
    8. Participates in ongoing professional development staff meetings and other required meetings to improve teaching skills and stay current with best practices in education
    9. Establishes and manages a positive classroom behavior system that ensures a safe inclusive and productive learning environment that is also clean and free of clutter
    10. Develops reasonable and specific rules/expectations of classroom behavior and procedures which are implemented consistently and conducive to high levels of learning
    11. Guides the learning process in collaboration with parents toward achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear performance goals for all lessons units projects that are communicated to students
    12. Serves as the childs advocate to include making referrals to school wide social and academic provided services
    13. Maintains and communicates accurate complete and correct records as required by law District policy and administrative regulations including cumulative record folders 504s IEPs attendance reports and any other reports to parents
    14. Upholds and enforces school expectations Administrative Regulations and Board policy
    15. Carries out assigned student supervision outside the classroom such as yard duty assemblies athletic events and extracurricular activities and all emergency drills to ensure student safety
    16. Models personal and professional values of equity integrity caring collaboration personal and collective accountability
    17. Performs other related duties as assigned


    SALARY:Salary and work year to be according to current teacher salary schedule

    EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Districts Improvement of ProfessionalServices handbook Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective bargaining agreementswhen applicable

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operators license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
