Job Title: Project Engineer (Heavy Civil Construction/Infrastructure)
Location: Oxnard CA
Position Type: Full-Time On-site
The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the planning design and execution of construction and industrial services projects. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of infrastructure projects. The Project Engineer must possess a strong knowledge of civil engineering principles construction practices and project management. They are also required to adhere to safety standards and protocols.
Major Duties & Responsibilities - Assist in the development and implementation of project plans including scope budget and schedule.
- Conduct feasibility studies site investigations and assessments to evaluate project requirements and constraints.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs specifications and drawings.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including clients contractors and regulatory authorities to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications quality standards and safety regulations.
- Work closely with quality control manager to ensure strict guidelines are adhered to.
Education Knowledge Skills & Abilities - Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities including military bases.
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or a related field highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles construction practices and project management.
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and project management software.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in construction project management.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Ability to track submittals and complete RFIs REAs CORs and CTCs.
- Experience with quality control tasks on a heavy civil construction site. Any quality-related certifications are a big plus.
- Experience working with USACE and/or on NAVFAC projects is a big plus.
