Job Summary
Essential Skills & Expertise
1. Degree level education in a relevant subject (e.g. data science computer science business analysis)
2. Strong experience a Technical Business Analyst System Analyst Business Analyst or similar role in a related industry
3. A sound understanding of the software development lifecycle
4. Demonstrable experience of the following:
a. Understanding and experience of business analysis skills techniques and practices
b. Querying reviewing and manipulating large quantities of data using Python SQL and Excel.
c. Requirements elicitation (both functional and non-functional) and user story generation ideally in the context of data analytics
d. Analysing and documenting complex business processes with a strong data focus
e. Project methodologies such as Waterfall or Agile
f. The tools principles and best practices techniques appropriate to requirements gathering analysis and documentation.
g. Working on Data Analytics projects
Desirable Skills & Experience
5. The ideal candidate will also have previous experience of the following:
a. Working in the utilities sector
b. Working with cloud-based data warehouse data lake architectures and cloud technologies relevant to Data Analytics
c. Tableau or similar data visualisation tooling
d. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Machine Learning (ML)
e. Mentoring and coaching others
f. Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations and practices
6. AWS certification for Data Analytics Solution Architect or DevOps or similar would be a distinct advantage
