We are looking for a caring and patient Residential Support Worker to support children with developmental physical or cognitive disabilities in a residential setting. This role focuses on creating a safe nurturing and engaging environment where children can build skills develop independence and participate in meaningful daily activities. ALL SHIFTS AVAILABLE!
Provide individualized support to children with disabilities including assistance with daily routines communication mobility and personal care (as required).
Build trusting supportive relationships with children while maintaining healthy boundaries and consistent expectations.
Implement individualized support plans behavior strategies communication systems (e.g. PECS AAC) and therapeutic recommendations as directed by the team.
Support children in emotional regulation social skill development and positive coping strategies.
Assist with recreational educational and community-based activities that promote learning inclusion and fun.
Prepare meals assist with feeding if needed and maintain a clean and organized living environment.
Administer medications and follow all medical safety and emergency procedures.
Document daily activities behavioral observations incidents and progress notes accurately.
Ensure the group home is clean and properly organized.
Collaborate with families supervisors clinicians and other support professionals.
Requirements
High school diploma required; diploma/degree in Child and Youth Care Developmental Services ECE Psychology Social Services or related field preferred.
Experience working with children with disabilities (developmental physical medical autism spectrum or behavioral differences) is a strong asset.
Knowledge of child development trauma-informed care and positive behavior support.
Strong communication skills patience creativity and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Ability to lift assist with transfers or support mobility as needed.
Current First Aid/CPR medication administration training and NVCI/Behavior Management Systems certification (or willingness to obtain).
Clear criminal and vulnerable sector background check.
Preferred clean driving record
