Your opportunity
As our Planning and Property Officer (AO5) you will support QFDs land and building acquisition processes by undertaking town planning due diligence feasibility assessments and development pathway analysis.
Working in the Property Management Unit youll collaborate with internal stakeholders consultants private sector partners and other government agencies to ensure that QFDs capital program and property decisions are compliant informed and aligned with complex statutory planning requirements.
Based at QFD State Headquarters in Albion you will:
- Review planning legislation and land use documents to support property acquisitions disposals and capital works
- Provide clear and well-evidenced planning advice including risk identification and feasibility assessments
- Analyse consultant reports and prepare due diligence documentation to support development applications
- Contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage and native title considerations in early land assessments
- Prepare accurate briefs submissions and reports to support investment and property decisions
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external planning bodies
- Represent QFD professionally in meetings and working groups
- Support continuous improvement of the QFD Asset Management Framework and associated projects
What youll bring
We are looking for someone who can:
- Interpret and apply legislation and planning frameworks confidently
- Analyse land use risk and development potential to support decision-making
- Prepare high-quality technical reports and recommendations
- Build constructive relationships across government consultants and project stakeholders
- Work proactively manage deadlines and deliver consistent accurate work
Highly desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in town planning urban and regional planning or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in town planning development or similar
- Understanding of public sector planning processes and infrastructure pathways
