Position: Plant Operations Specialist

General Description:
Under general supervision of the Plant Operations Director supports and maintains the organizations facility operation buildings and grounds. Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair. Minor maintenance repairs and other duties are the primary duties. Assists with plumbing electrical and HVAC maintenance. Constructs repairs and maintains wooden structures such as furniture equipment partitions and other parts of the hospital buildings using hand tools and power tools according to written and oral instructions. Participates in rotating after hours/weekend on-call support.
Experience/Education Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent and a working knowledge of electrical mechanical and structural building operational and maintenance systems is desirable. Certification in plant systems equipment is desirable. Strong oral communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation. A working knowledge of fire alarm systems or building security systems. A thorough knowledge of general repairs to plant equipment. Knowledge and observance of safety precautions. Proficient in carpentry boiler water testing plumbing painting/plastering and other related skills.
