Procurement Specialist 3/4!

This position is in the Supervisory Unit (SS) at a Range 18/20.

This position is located in Juneau. However this position may be relocated within Alaska with necessary approvals where infrastructure allows.


What You Will Be Doing:
This professional position serves as a full-proficiency department lead procurement officer for the Department of Labor & Workforce Development with unlimited delegated purchasing authority. The incumbent is responsible for direct oversight and execution of Department of Labor & Workforce Development (DOLWD) formal and informal procurements under AS 36.30. This position performs all aspects of procurement activities using independent professional judgment and works with DOLWD staff in a consultative role to ensure compliance with Alaska Procurement Code and DOLWD policy requirements. The DOLWD Procurement Officer is also the Departments primary leasing and facilities contact.

This position supervises three procurement specialists located in Juneau Anchorage and Seward. This position is flexibly staffed and may be filled at the Procurement Specialist 3 or Procurement Specialist 4 level.

Procurement Specialist Level 4:

  • Planning and Evaluating: Organizes work sets priorities and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
  • Technical Credibility: Understands and appropriately applies principles procedures requirements regulations and policies related to specialized expertise.

FLEXIBLY STAFFED
This position is flexibly staffed. The level of the job offer will be based on the selected candidates credibly possessed and proven competencies. If hired at the lower level you will be promoted to the higher level after successfully completing the training plan and demonstrating competency in the work.

DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIREMENT
Applicants must possess a valid drivers license. Proof of licensure will be required prior to reporting to duty.
