Job Summary

The Insurance Underwriting Team Leader will oversee a small team provide guidance on underwriting tasks support workflow management and ensure applications are processed accurately and efficiently. This is a hands on role where the candidate will both lead and actively participate in daily underwriting operations.

The ideal candidate brings professional office experience strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate with brokers clients and internal staff in a polished and timely manner. Prior experience in insurance underwriting is a major plus but candidates with relevant experience in professional industries such as financial services legal offices corporate administration or medical billing offices may be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and support the underwriting team in daily workflow
Review applications documentation and required information for accuracy
Communicate with brokers agents and clients as needed
Train and mentor team members to ensure strong performance
Maintain underwriting standards and compliance procedures
Assist with escalated cases and problem solving
Ensure timely processing of all underwriting tasks
Provide regular updates to management on team performance

Qualifications:

Professional office experience required (insurance finance banking legal healthcare admin or corporate office roles)
Insurance underwriting or related insurance experience strongly preferred
Strong leadership or team guidance experience
Excellent communication organization and follow-through
Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting
Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
