About the role.

We are looking for a Foodservice Sales Representative VIC to help us shape the future of foodservice across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and regional VIC and NSW. While the position is primarily metro-focused it also includes scheduled regional travel. Approximately once every 6 8 weeks you will be required to travel through regional areas including Griffith Wagga Wagga and Albury. This territory-driven field-based role is ideal for a self-starter with a passion for helping small and medium-sized businesses thrive in a dynamic competitive market.

Youll spend Monday to Thursday on the road building relationships finding new opportunities and supporting existing customers. Fridays are dedicated to collaboration and planning with your team in the Melbourne office. This position offers autonomy variety and the chance to make a measurable impact for both your customers and McCain. The market is currently challenging and highly competitive so were looking for someone with a resilient mindset and the ability to quickly build rapport own their territory and deliver results.

What youll be doing.

  • Build strong business relationships with distributors and end-users in your territory (Eastern suburbs and regional areas).
  • Generate new business acquire new accounts and expand McCains product range through regular sales visits presentations and on-site cook-ups.
  • Take full ownership of your territory quickly establishing trust responding to changing market conditions and overcoming challenges with tenacity and a solutions-driven approach.
  • Plan your activities and visits to maximize territory potential Monday to Thursday; participate in team planning sessions and collaborative office days in Melbourne every Friday.
  • Manage call cycle planning maintain up-to-date customer records and ensure sales and opportunity reporting meets business requirements.
  • Introduce new SKUs and ensure product pull-through with distributors and key end-users.
  • Accurately forecast business outcomes proactively identify issues and report results to management.
  • Champion McCains values of collaboration innovation and customer-first service at all times.
  • Mentor and support new team members when required.
  • Strictly adhere to McCains corporate policies and code of practice.

What youll need to be successful.

  • Prior experience in foodservice sales is highly regarded but not essential; willingness to learn about the foodservice market is key.
  • Proven ability to cope with challenging competitive markets resilient proactive and unafraid of hard work.
  • Demonstrated success in building trust-based business relationships quickly.
  • Experience in FMCG or understanding of what its like to work for a large FMCG business is highly valued.
  • Self-starter attitude: ability to work autonomously plan effectively and own your territory.
  • Excellent oral written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous use of Salesforce (CRM) considered highly beneficial.
  • Ability to travel regularly in the territory and to regional areas as needed.
  • Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Willingness to attend the Melbourne office every Friday.

Youll be part of a well-established supportive close-knit team of four experienced sales representatives led by the Foodservice Field Sales Manager VIC/TAS. The team values open communication shared planning and support and a culture of results through hard work and innovation. Every Friday the team comes together in the Melbourne office to plan share wins and build lasting camaraderie.
