The role
The role of the Housekeeping Assistant is to provide a high quality hygiene service in line with National/Regional/Hospital Infection Control Policies that ensures the wellbeing and safety of patients and staff through provision of a clean environment and the prevention of cross infection. To promote an environment that encourages safety quality hygiene standards and prevents cross infection. To achieve and maintain the standards required to provide an efficient and effective Housekeeping service at Wexford General Hospital & Ely Hospital.
Staff will be allocated to areas within Wexford General Hospital & Ely Hospital. Rosters will be over seven days of the week Monday through Sunday and may involve day duty evening duty and night duty as required.
The person
1. Professional Qualifications Experience etc.
Candidates must have at the latest date of application:
Have completed second level education to Junior Certificate standard or equivalent.
And
Have relevant employment in a housekeeping environment in a healthcare setting i.e. Hospital/Nursing Home/Day Care Facility or in the hospitality sector within the last 2 years.
And
Possess a competent level of spoken and written English to compile HACCP/HIQA documents.
And
Have the personal competence and capacity to properly discharge the duties of the role.
