About the Role
The Public Safety Officer I plays a key role in ensuring the safety and security of patients visitors and staff within our healthcare facilities. This position supports a secure welcoming environment by monitoring hospital grounds responding to emergencies and enforcing safety protocols. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to begin or advance a career in healthcare security.
Key Responsibilities
Patrol hospital entrances units parking areas and grounds to deter hazards and ensure safety.
Monitor surveillance cameras access control points and alarm systems.
Respond to calls for assistance providing escorts directions and support to staff patients and visitors.
Enforce safety and security policies including weapons screening and access control.
Assist with emergency response crowd control and incident coordination with clinical teams.
Conduct inspections of emergency exits equipment and life safety systems.
Document incidents and maintain accurate activity logs.
Participate in required trainingincluding CPR Narcan Stop the Bleed and de-escalation.
Maintain professionalism confidentiality and respect for all individuals.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid drivers license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and SambaSafety risk scores.
At least 1 year of security or customer service experience preferred.
Must be 21 years old (exceptions for those under 21 with prior military law enforcement or comparable healthcare security experience).
Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods occasionally run or climb stairs restrain individuals as part of a team and lift 50 lbs.
Strong communication decision-making and interpersonal skills.

Salary Range: Minimum 17.11/hour - Maximum 28.26/ will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
