Are you ready to be the welcoming face of our clinic We are looking for a dedicated Bilingual Spanish Office Assistant 2 to manage our front desk and serve as the first point of contact for our patients and the public. This vital role involves a variety of responsibilities including managing patient check-in scheduling appointments handling telephone inquiries verifying insurance details and ensuring accurate patient records. Your exceptional customer service skills and timely communication will be key to supporting our medical teams and ensuring a smooth positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors. This position also requires the ability to read write and speak in both Spanish and English languages.
As the Office Assistant 2 - Spanish KSA you will:
Greet clients and visitors at the front desk; answer incoming call and route appropriately
Provide information regarding the clinic and other resources and refers to other information services
Act as a liaison with treatment staff and providers relaying information about patient needs such as walk ins prescription pick ups.
Enter information into Epic Practice Management; document using correct appointment codes requesting interpreters as necessary
Check patients in obtains and/or verifies demographic information and insurance coverage utilizing appropriate databases; update registration and accounts
Collect co-pays and payments on account balances following established cash handling policies and procedures
Review priority messages and takes appropriate follow up action; receive review and distribute client documents such as medical records from other clinics faxes requesting prescriptions requests for medical records
Track release of information requests to assure they are received in a timely fashion for patient care
Assist with referrals as needed by researching reports and notifying teams/referral coordinator if referrals are incomplete
Troubleshoot equipment issues; report necessary repairs as needed to supervisor
Assure BBC (Building Better Care) team reports are in order and AR equipment is available for meetings; accurately documents meeting notes

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
Education/ training equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
One (1) to four (4) years of general office support or customer service experience dealing directly with the public.
Must be bilingual in the Spanish and English languages. (Language testing is required.)
Must pass a reference check.

Schedule: Monday Wednesday Thursday and Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Tuesday 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM position. The schedule for the first 3 months will be Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM for training purposes.
Work Location: This position works onsite at East County Health Center 600 NE 8th St # 300 Gresham OR 97030. The employee holding this position is designated as an Essential Employee under Multnomah County Personnel RuleEssential Employees. This position is essential to the public health and safety and required to report for duty regardless of County decisions to close or curtail other county operations.
Serving the Public Even During Disasters:
Everyday Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather natural disaster or other types of community emergency response. During these emergency responses while typically there begins with a call for volunteers county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities.
