Other Conditions: Extramural funds. To begin approximately January 2026 or soon thereafter. Renewal of appointment is contingent upon availability of funds program/operational needs and satisfactory performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist the Principal Investigator in conducting research and provide analytical support for battery prototyping testing and modeling projects. This includes assembly of custom-made batteries in a glove-box environment the coupling and testing of half-cells and
full cells on multichannel potentiostats and battery modeling using a matlab or python environment. - The research assistant will be expected to be trained in EHSO laboratory safety.
Minimum Qualifications:- Must be a degree-seeking student admitted or registered in a mechanical engineering graduate program at UH Manoa.
- Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above and maintain full-time enrollment.
- M.S. in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Working knowledge of principles and practices of scientific research.
- Experience in battery prototyping and battery testing.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly organized and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively in research organizations and establish and maintain professional relationships with coworkers and industry personnel.
Desirable Qualifications:- Experience with python.
