The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) serves more than 36000 students across school communities in Oakville Burlington Milton and Halton Hills (Georgetown and Acton). Through the HCDSB Child and Youth Care department students and caregivers are supported to enhance student well-being and academic success.
We are seeking passionate Child and Youth Counsellors to be placed in a casual pool to fill short-term as well as long term vacancies during the school year. Successful candidates may be offered contracts of up to eight (8) weeks in length. This position is based on a thirty-five (35) hour week. Casual Child and Youth Counsellors will have the opportunity to apply for long-term temporary and/or permanent positions as they become available.

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Senior Manager Child & Youth Counsellors (CYCs) work as a member of an integrated school team. They collaborate with families school staff and community agencies to enhance student success and well-being. Child and Youth Counsellors promote support and facilitate school and class-wide preventative initiatives and programs that foster healthy safe and inclusive Catholic school environments. As part of an inter-disciplinary team CYCs provide direct small group and individual support for students of all ages impacted by a range of social emotional and developmental concerns.
Qualifications / Experience:
This position is covered by the A.P.S.S.P Collective Agreement.
