About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a physiotherapist with experience in musculoskeletal orthopaedic and rehabilitation clinical practice to join our Orthopaedics team at Health NZ/Te Whatu Ora Southern.
This position sits with the Physiotherapy Orthopaedic Musculoskeletal clinical pathway. You will be responsible for providing patient- and whanau-centred clinical care to patients referred to the Southern Community Orthopaedic team ( SCOTs). The pathway which is community-facing provides people with strategies to independently manage their condition and aims to prevent or delay surgery. You will work with the SCOTs clinical lead and allied health assistants to plan facilitate and deliver individual and group exercise and education programmes.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of working with patients to achieve functional and vocational goals optimizing patient outcomes and facilitating effective discharge and self-management.
Flexibility is essential as this role may requires participation in some evening sessions.
A current drivers license is essential to the role may be undertaken at a range of community facilities and require some travel between sites.

The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience in musculoskeletal assessment treatment and rehabilitation. Additional experience with routine and complex rheumatology and orthopaedic conditions and managing persistent pain and chronic pathologies would be an advantage.
We value clinicians who can work independently while actively engaging with our supportive team participating in regular peer reviews and professional development activities.
You will need to be adaptable and flexible allowing you to work effectively with your clients primary referrers and the wider orthopaedic team and within a changing health environment.
Salary range
This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied Public Health Scientific and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 5 ($100163 p.a) and Step 7 ($107600 p.a. pro rata) of the Degree-Based Allied Public Health and Technical scale.
