About the role

Help us continue to support top quality patient centred care on a permanent basis as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Urology.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will

  • Promote quality nursing care through research-based practice and be responsible for patient care and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team educating and sharing knowledge with patients and outpatient staff.
  • Answer patient queries order tests and coordinate referrals
  • Follow up pathology reports and hold nurse led clinics
  • Advocate for patients and strive to improve efficiency in the patient journey.
  • In addition as we are closely linked with the Otago University Medical School and Otago Polytechnic there will be an abundance of opportunities to put your hand up and be involved in educating others.

About you

We are looking for a positive and confident Registered Nurse who has the:

  • Drive and enthusiasm to motivate staff and engage them in their clinical development
  • In-depth knowledge of urology pathophysiology anatomy and conditions
  • Passion for modelling quality nursing practise.
  • A post graduate diploma (or working towards) and/or a masters degree.
  • It is also expected that you will have achieved / or be working towards Level 3 / 4 PDRP.

Salary range
This role belongs to the expired NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between (116040 p.a) and ($127674 p.a) prorata of the Designated Senior Nurse scale.
