Are you a proactive and compassionate SEN TA keen to make a real difference in a busy Islington primary from January 2026 A vibrant school in Islington is recruiting a SEN TA to support pupils with additional needs and to contribute to whole-school inclusion work.
The SEN TA will support classroom learning run evidence-based interventions implement individual support plans and help pupils develop independence and social skills. This SEN TA role in Islington will commence January 2026 with a full induction arranged before January 2026 so the SEN TA can be ready for the spring term.
Role responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND adapting approaches to individual needs.
- Run targeted intervention programmes monitor pupil progress and report outcomes to the SENCo.
- Support access to the curriculum by adapting materials and offering scaffolded learning strategies.
- Assist with social and emotional learning promoting positive interactions and resilience.
- Work collaboratively with therapists specialists and families across Islington to deliver consistent support.
Person specification
- Demonstrable experience working with children with additional needs with knowledge of practical support strategies.
- Confident in using assessment feedback to shape small-group tuition and interventions as a SEN TA.
- Reliable empathetic and an effective team-player within the Islington school community.
- Able to start January 2026 and to attend pre-start induction and training before January 2026.
