Scope of Project

VDOT is seeking an AI Engineer IV to implement maintain and manage cloud infrastructure for AI in Microsoft Azure. The role will include configuring and maintaining monitoring systems Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines. The engineer will ensure system security and stability via patching oversee mission-critical backup and recovery and support cloud migration from on-premises environments to Azure.

Responsibilities

Implement maintain and monitor Azure AI resources and cloud infrastructure.
Provide guidance on deploying and managing Azure AI services.
Perform regular patching updates to ensure security and system stability.
Oversee backup operations and recovery for mission-critical systems.
Plan and execute cloud migrations and move workloads from on-premises to Azure.
Provide production support and troubleshoot application issues.
Utilize security tools such as Tenable for vulnerability remediation.
Use SCCM & SCOM for automated deployments and patch management.
Develop disaster recovery (DR) plans to reduce downtime and prevent data loss.
Work across multiple technical environments Java SQL Oracle MS Dynamics etc.
Apply strong networking knowledge including OSI layers and network protocols.

Required

Experience providing guidance for the implementation of AI resources in Azure - 3 Years
Experience implementing monitoring and maintaining Azure environments - 8 Years
Performing regular patching and updates for stability/security - 10 Years
Backup operations & recovery processes in mission-critical environments - 10 Years
Planning/executing cloud migrations (on-prem cloud) - 10 Years
Production application support and troubleshooting - 10 Years
Tools such as SCCM & SCOM for automation/patching - 10 Years
Experience working with security tools such as Tenable
Strong networking - understanding OSI Stack & protocols
