Assistant Manager Environmental and Social Safeguards
The Assistant Manager Environmental and Social Safeguards will be responsible for overseeing implementing and monitoring environmental and social safeguard requirements across all project stages. This role ensures full compliance with national regulations donor guidelines and industry best practices while supporting sustainable project development. The position involves conducting assessments preparing safeguard documentation coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring effective mitigation of environmental and social risks. The Assistant Manager will work closely with project teams consultants regulatory authorities and community representatives to deliver responsible compliant and socially inclusive project outcomes.
Candidate Profile:
Bachelors degree in Eco Business Management Environmental and Natural Resource Management Technology Social Sciences Human Rights or Labour Studies.
Experience in field data collection validation and monitoring systems for ESG metrics.
Proficiency in MS Office data management tools and sustainability reporting platforms.
The candidate must be based in Manner and demonstrate the ability to travel frequently to different project sites and locations as required.
Flexibility to work across field site and office environments.
Responsibilities:
Apply strong analytical skills to review data quality and ensure compliance with internal controls and reporting standards.
Provide practical ESG consultation and guidance to projects and site teams ensuring compliance with sustainability and safeguard requirements.
Prepare clear accurate reports and deliver effective presentations maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Apply strong problem-solving time management and multitasking skills to manage multiple priorities and ensure timely delivery of safeguard and ESG initiatives.
Foster a collaborative proactive and detail-oriented approach while influencing and guiding cross-functional teams to achieve compliance and ESG objectives.
