What we are looking for:
As a Procurement Business Partner youll play a pivotal role in guiding departments through the full procurement lifecycle - from strategy and sourcing to contract management and supplier performance. Youll be the go-to advisor for best practice procurement compliance and commercial insight helping Council deliver high-impact outcomes with integrity and innovation.
What your day will look like:
- Partner with departments to develop tailored sourcing strategies aligned with business goals and legislative compliance
- Lead procurement activities including market testing evaluations negotiations contract awards and supplier performance management
- Provide expert advice on procurement frameworks risk mitigation and governance
- Monitor external market trends and translate insights into strategic opportunities
- Drive supplier relationship management plans and enhance local supplier engagement
- Conduct spend analysis and support KPI development for contractors and suppliers
- Collaborate with governance specialists to uphold a robust compliance framework

What youll need for success:
- Tertiary qualifications (AQF level 5 or above) in a procurement finance or legal related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge and experience in end-to-end procurement and contract management processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislation legal obligations and Local Government process relating to procurement practices.
- Demonstrated high level of negotiation skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Proven commitment to continuous improvement proactively identifying and analysing opportunities to improve outcomes and performance for a diverse range of business units.
- Highly developed level of oral and written communication skills including the ability to effectively negotiate with professional technical and administrative staff.
- Drivers licence
