About the role
The Operations Division plays a critical role in AEMOs success ensuring the secure and efficient functioning of Australias wholesale and retail energy markets and systems. Within this division the Gas Market Operations team oversees the monitoring and management of AEMOs east coast wholesale gas markets. The teams responsibilities include analysing and reporting key market events to stakeholders in publications and to industry forums. Additionally the team provides support to market participants responding to queries actioning tasks and offering education on gas market operations. The team also engages with industry stakeholders and other business units within AEMO to implement market enhancements.
You will make an important contribution to gas market operations in the areas of affordability of gas to consumers and the security and reliability of gas. You will also focus on market monitoring involving investigation and reporting of outcomes in the wholesale gas markets enabling AEMO and our stakeholders to make informed decisions.
The role has potential to be included in an on-call roster to support markets outside of business hours and can be based in Brisbane or Melbourne.
