The Director of Real Estate leads the strategic oversight and management of LinkedIns global real estate portfolio driving long-term planning operational excellence and alignment with the companys business strategy. This leader oversees the full real estate lifecycle including site selection acquisition transactions lease administration disposition and portfolio optimization to ensure every investment supports LinkedIns mission and growth. Partnering closely with senior executives Legal Finance and Workplace leaders the Director delivers best-in-class environments that enable productivity innovation and connection. Leveraging data-driven insights and market intelligence this role informs strategic decisions champions continuous improvement and ensures all real estate initiatives align with the broader Workplace and company vision. The Director leads a high-performing senior-level team committed to operational rigor and strategic impact.
Responsibilities
Real Estate Management
- Oversees highly complex portfolios of regional and/or global real estate activities by guiding teams in evaluations selection development and management of real estate transactions.
- Provides expert strategic guidance for the teams portfolio of regional and/or global real estate activities. Drives the execution of regional strategic long-term plans and delegates resources needed to accomplish the plan.
- Provides expert strategic guidance to ensure the execution of strategic goals in partnership with global and regional leadership.
- Partners with senior stakeholders across the organization to update and operationalize the global strategy and communicate plans to the team and stakeholders.
Real Estate Transactions
- Oversees all stages of transactions (e.g. letters of intent contract negotiations).
- Drives the development negotiation documentation and approval of complex acquisition agreements business cases and deal summaries.
- Collaborates with legal teams and ensures contracts are created with LinkedIns best interest. Serves as a role model for team members by ensuring on-time delivery and contract completion.
Relationship Management
- Partners with internal and external stakeholders to build an aligned strategy.
- Drives development of long- term strategic plans based on reporting information (e.g. market reports) at a regional level identifies trends and provides strategic recommendations.
- Utilizes business intelligence and data to positively influence a wide range of senior stakeholders.
- Serves as a point of escalation to resolve highly complex issues.
Budgeting and Finance
- Drives the execution of the regional and/or global budget.
- Presents business cases for budget approval. Socializes the budget and impact with key senior stakeholders.
- Drives timely updates to budgets by forecasting costs and updating spending targets in partnership with the Finance team and senior leadership.
- Drives budget planning forecasting and tracking for facilities in collaboration with finance stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Drives the development and implementation of innovative solutions process updates and optimizations to drive operational efficiency.
- Ensures leases are enabled verifies real estate is up to date and maintains its competitive status with other real estate competitors.
- Influences overall Real Estate Strategy and works to ensure Real Estate projects/initiatives are aligned with greater Workplace and LinkedIn strategy.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications
- 10 years in a leadership role with direct reports.
- 15 years in corporate real estate or a directly related field OR Bachelors Degree in business management real estate finance project management or related field AND 12 years in corporate real estate or a directly related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 years in project and/or program management.
- 7 years with financial modeling.
- 7 years working in the technology industry.
- 7 years working in a large multinational corporation.
