Job Summary
What will you be doing
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take a leading role in the development of innovative mechanical solutions for R&D and R&T programmes. You will ensure designs are technically robust meet customer requirements and align with key business objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the definition and delivery of mechanical design solutions for new product development
- Review and approve design work produced by Product Engineers across the team
- Support or own one or more Engineering Work Packages for mechanical design activities
- Provide technical supervision to a multidisciplinary team including Stress & Thermal Supply Chain Industrialisation V&V Configuration and Quality
- Act as the technical reporting point for Product Engineers within allocated work packages
- Ensure solutions meet Design for Manufacture/Assembly and Design to Cost requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement across design processes and engineering governance
Qualifications :
Experience skills and qualifications required:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Experience delivering mechanical design in a complex engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of full product lifecycle and engineering governance
- Ability to lead reviews and provide constructive technical guidance to peers
- Knowledge of design standards and manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
