ROLE Mechanical Design Engineer

SALARYdependent on experience

TYPE Permanent

LOCATION Hampshire

My client designs and manufactures bespoke equipment. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Hampshire on a permanent basis.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

At least 1-3 years experience in a similar Design / Mechanical Engineering position
Strong 3D CAD skills - ideally Inventor SolidWorks Creo or similar
Experience designing sheet metal precision equipment machinery or electronic products
Degree qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of a variety of materials sheet metal injection moulded plastics etc.
Experienced designing products from concept to production
Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Proficient using MS Office
Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

Being responsible for the Design and Development of various electromechanical products
Using Inventor 3D CAD software for design on a day-to-day basis
Developing ideas from concept to production
Creating models/prototypes
Liaising with clients and developing solutions for design specifications
Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
Providing technical guidance and support
Supporting product Testing Verification & Validation
