Job Summary

  • Ensure that all records of applications and associated documents certificates issued and samples are placed in a safe and secure location.
  • Maintain confidentiality of applicant details at all times.
  • Identify potential conflict of interest situations and take appropriate corrective action/s (including reporting to supervisor).
  • Treat all applicants as equals without favour to any business group or association.
  • Ensure details of all applications are recorded onto the Product Certification database.
  • Record all details of the Certificate issued onto the Product Certification Database.

At all times comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.


Qualifications :

Qualification

  • Ability to understand and use Standards (IEC AS/NZS EN ISO etc.) in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Extensive Industry Safety Testing Experience and Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

 

Technical

  • Experience in applying Australian Standards and a clear understanding of IEC Standards to Electrical Product.
  • Have an understanding of the general concepts electrical theory when applied to electrical equipment appliances and accessories.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Electrical Safety Principles.
  • Understanding of and participation in the development of Quality and other systems supporting SGS-EPCS.
  • Understanding of SGS C&P and relevant business activities.

 

Communication

  • Possess technical skills to comprehend the validity of test reports issued as required under regulation.
  • Have comprehension skills to be able to read and understand technical instructions and standards when auditing the application and its associated documents in relation to the Electrical Product.
  • Technical verbal skills to discuss test results with the applicant and/or other body to assess the application. 
  • Possess interpersonal skills to be able to communicate with the client within National committees and other industry associated groups.
