Sr. Cloud Engineer I (6240)

MetroStar is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking GCP Cloud Engineer to join our Federal IT team in Washington this hands-on role youll help architect deploy and manage secure scalable and mission-critical cloud solutions in support of a high-impact federal customer.

What youll do:

• Design build and maintain secure scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform Deployment Manager or similar tools.
• Support and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI Jenkins or Cloud Build.
• Collaborate with developers cybersecurity experts and government partners to streamline deployment workflows.
• Monitor troubleshoot and improve system performance to ensure uptime reliability and SLA compliance.
• Implement federal cloud compliance standards (e.g. FedRAMP NIST) and enforce best practices for security and governance.
• Contribute to documentation automation scripts and internal knowledge sharing to support continuous improvement.

What youll need to succeed:

• Active Secret clearance (TS preferred).
• 4 years of cloud engineering experience including at least 2 years working in GCP environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Compute Engine Cloud Functions VPC IAM GKE and BigQuery.
• Experience building infrastructure with Terraform Ansible or Deployment Manager.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI Jenkins or Cloud Build.
• Solid understanding of Linux administration networking and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience supporting Agile/Scrum development environments.

SALARY RANGE: $119000 - $161000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications skills and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:

• The candidates professional background and relevant work experience
• The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
• Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
• This role is also eligible for additional compensation subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar which may include:
• Performance-based bonuses
• Company-paid training and/or certifications
• Referral bonuses
