About the role

Effective stakeholder engagement is a core pillar of AEMOs work. Our stakeholder environment is complex crossing government industry consumers and community. High-quality proactive and consistent engagement will help AEMO to be a trusted partner with our stakeholders. to deliver better energy outcomes for consumers and the community.

This is an exciting opportunity to join AEMOs Stakeholder Engagement Team in a new role as a senior member of the team focused on the development of AEMOs financial strategic investor relations and connections engagement strategies.

This is a highly specialised role requiring a senior investor relations practitioner. You will focus on enterprise investor financier and developer engagement ensuring AEMO effectively connects with and supports the investment community to advance Australias energy transition.

The role will build AEMOs strategic and financial confidence and relationships and trust with investors industry our Financial Consultative Committee and consumers. You will develop and drive strategic coordinated engagement with the broader investment market for the energy transition as well as engagement across our key stakeholders on strategic and financial matters relevant to AEMO.

This role can be based across any AEMO site from Melbourne Brisbane Adelaide or Sydney with flexibility to work from home.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the development implementation and continuous improvement of AEMOs enterprise investor developer and financier engagement strategy aligned with corporate objectives and statutory and/or contractual obligations.
  • Work closely with the GM Stakeholder Engagement relevant GMs in strategy finance and onboarding and connections and members of the Executive Leadership Team to develop and drive a strategic investor relations program of work focused on three limbs engagement with the broader investment market for the energy transition engagement with key stakeholders on strategic and financial matters relevant to AEMO and engagement with developers through our Onboarding and Connections function.
  • Identify and proactively address stakeholder and industry trends and issues evaluate insights and feedback and provide strategic advice and recommendations that serve to enhance AEMOs relationships trust and reputation with stakeholders deliver better engagement and energy outcomes and mitigate risks.
  • Work closely with the communications and finance teams to develop collateral to support the translation of AEMO performance and objectives into a compelling value narrative for our stakeholders.

What you will bring to the role

  • Investor relations engagement and communications expertise is essential with a preference for experience in the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of strategic and financial concepts and ability to translate strategic and financial information into easy to understand language.
  • Experience in supporting investment-related policy and reform in regulated environments highly desirable.
  • Experience leading small to medium sized teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to advocate negotiate and influence outcomes while maintaining strong working relationships.
