About the role

Effective stakeholder engagement is a core pillar of AEMOs work. Our stakeholder environment is complex crossing government industry consumers and community. High-quality proactive and consistent engagement will help AEMO to be a trusted partner with our stakeholders to deliver better energy outcomes for consumers and the community.

This is an exciting early career opportunity to join AEMOs Stakeholder Engagement Team engaging across the spectrum of policy system planning and operations. You will have a critical role in driving consistent exceptional engagement in line with AEMOs Corporate Plan Stakeholder Strategy and Principles across key items of AEMOs medium to long-term system planning including the Integrated System Plan Electricity Statement Of Opportunities Gas Statement Of Opportunities and Inputs Assumptions and Scenarios Report.

This role can be based across any AEMO site from Melbourne Brisbane Adelaide or Sydney with flexibility to work from home.

What you will be doing

This role will help to identify stakeholder trends and issues evaluate insights and feedback and provide strategic advice and recommendations that serve to enhance AEMOs relationships trust and reputation with stakeholders deliver better engagement and energy outcomes and mitigate risks.

With guidance from the senior staff and managers you will:

  • Assist with the implementation of communication and engagement plans and strategies and help facilitate events and develop quality consistent supporting content and materials for stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to share stakeholder insights and drive improvements in engagement work.
  • Proactively capture insights from stakeholders and share with the wider team and business.
  • Respond to emails in group mailbox and to formal queries as part of an engagement.
  • Assist with the management and maintenance of stakeholder mapping to reflect current state and management and maintenance of stakeholder contact databases and AEMOs CRM.

What you will bring to the role

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Bachelor) in social sciences communications public relations or related field.
  • Some experience in small to medium sized corporate and/or complex service delivery organisations. An understanding of the Energy sector would be favourably regarded but is not essential.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel PowerPoint and the Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics for CRM will be highly regarded.
  • Good organisational communication and interpersonal skills including effective written and verbal communication and consultation.
  • Ability to understand complex technical commercial or regulatory issues and translate these into meaningful stakeholder messaging.
