A welcoming primary school in Southwark is looking to appoint a committed SEN TA to join the team from January 2026. The SEN TA will work alongside class teachers and the SENCo to adapt resources run focused small-group sessions support behaviour strategies and help assess progress. The successful SEN TA will be calm patient and experienced in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. Working in Southwark the SEN TA will be part of a collaborative staff team committed to inclusive practice and strong outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily in-class support to individual pupils and small groups to access the curriculum.
- Deliver targeted interventions monitor impact and adjust approaches with the SENCo.
- Prepare and adapt resources to meet pupils needs and promote independence.
- Support pupils social emotional and sensory needs and implement agreed strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate effectively with teachers and parents in Southwark.
Person specification
- Experience working with children with additional needs either in schools or specialist settings as a SEN TA.
- Knowledge of effective intervention strategies differentiation and behaviour support.
- Patient organised and able to collaborate with teachers therapists and families across Southwark.
- Able to start January 2026 and to attend induction and planning sessions before January 2026.
