Job Summary

A reputable public entity requires the services of an experienced Project Manager to lead a comprehensive Risk Assessment Maturity Review. The role involves evaluating the current state of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) assessing alignment with legislation and best practices and producing a detailed maturity assessment report with improvement recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the full risk maturity assessment project.
Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of ERM systems oversight governance and processes.
Evaluate:
- Management participation in risk identification
- Alignment of risk profiles to organisational strategy
- Quality and adequacy of risk reporting
- Strategic and operational risk processes
- Effectiveness of the Risk Management function
Identify gaps and improvement opportunities aligned with PFMA Treasury Regulations King IV IIA Standards and other relevant assessment frameworks.
Facilitate engagements with management and the Risk & Compliance Unit.
Prepare and present draft and final assessment reports to management and the Finance Risk & Audit Committee.
Ensure delivery of an audit-ready comprehensive maturity assessment output.

Requirements

Honours degree / Postgraduate Diploma (NQF Level 8) in Internal Auditing Risk Management Accounting or related fields.
Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) mandatory.
910 years experience in Public Sector Risk Management.
Proven experience conducting Enterprise Risk Management Maturity Assessments.
Strong communication analytical and reporting capabilities.
Active membership with:
- Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA) or
- Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa (IIASA)
Must be free from any conflict of interest.

Expert knowledge of ERM frameworks and best practices.
Strong understanding of PFMA Treasury Regulations King IV and IIA Standards.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
Ability to work within tight deadlines and deliver high-quality reports
