A reputable public entity requires the services of an experienced Project Manager to lead a comprehensive Risk Assessment Maturity Review. The role involves evaluating the current state of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) assessing alignment with legislation and best practices and producing a detailed maturity assessment report with improvement recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full risk maturity assessment project.
- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of ERM systems oversight governance and processes.
Evaluate:
- Management participation in risk identification
- Alignment of risk profiles to organisational strategy
- Quality and adequacy of risk reporting
- Strategic and operational risk processes
- Effectiveness of the Risk Management function
- Identify gaps and improvement opportunities aligned with PFMA Treasury Regulations King IV IIA Standards and other relevant assessment frameworks.
- Facilitate engagements with management and the Risk & Compliance Unit.
- Prepare and present draft and final assessment reports to management and the Finance Risk & Audit Committee.
- Ensure delivery of an audit-ready comprehensive maturity assessment output.
Requirements
- Honours degree / Postgraduate Diploma (NQF Level 8) in Internal Auditing Risk Management Accounting or related fields.
- Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) mandatory.
- 910 years experience in Public Sector Risk Management.
- Proven experience conducting Enterprise Risk Management Maturity Assessments.
- Strong communication analytical and reporting capabilities.
Active membership with:
- Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA) or
- Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa (IIASA)
- Must be free from any conflict of interest.
- Expert knowledge of ERM frameworks and best practices.
- Strong understanding of PFMA Treasury Regulations King IV and IIA Standards.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and deliver high-quality reports
