Job Objective:
The MD/CEO will provide strategic leadership operational excellence and oversight of the entire general insurance businessdriving profitable growth strengthening governance and ensuring the institution meets the highest standards of prudential compliance risk management and customer outcomes.
You will translate Board strategy into long-term business plans shape underwriting and distribution excellence deepen broker and institutional relationships and champion digital innovation to advance the organisations competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
Develop and execute medium- to long-term strategies across underwriting distribution claims reinsurance investments and digital channels.
Deliver profitable and capital-efficient growth while expanding market share.
Evaluate and lead potential mergers acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
Corporate Governance & Board Engagement
Operate within Board-approved authorities and ensure accurate timely Board reporting.
Drive strong corporate governance aligned with NAICOM requirements.
Risk Capital & Regulatory Oversight
Lead enterprise risk management capital planning solvency monitoring and stress testing.
Maintain proactive credible engagement with NAICOM and ensure compliance with all prudential and market-conduct guidelines.
Operational Excellence
Ensure sound underwriting pricing governance portfolio management and claims discipline.
Oversee transparent and customer-centric claims management and complaints resolution.
Financial Management & Reporting
Ensure robust financial reporting statutory filings and regulatory submissions.
Oversee investment portfolio alignment with risk appetite and regulatory limits.
People Leadership & Culture
Inspire develop and lead a high-performing executive team.
Strengthen a culture of accountability ethics innovation and customer focus.
Education & Professional Credentials
Bachelors degree in Insurance Finance Business Administration or related field.
Advanced degree or professional qualification (ACII FCII CFA MBA etc.) highly preferred.
1215 years progressive insurance industry experience with at least 7 years in senior executive roles (or 10 years in technical functions for non-Associates).
Strong record of regulatory engagement and commercial performance in a regulated insurance environment.
