Job Summary

3 Month Contract With A Local Authority


JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking qualified experienced and advanced Social Workers to join our Assessment and Child Protection Team. The team manages statutory assessments and child protection investigations to ensure that every child receives the right level of support and protection.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct statutory assessments and child protection investigations in line with legal and policy requirements.

  • Develop implement and review Child in Need and Child Protection Plans.

  • Manage allocated caseloads effectively ensuring timely and high-quality social work practice.

  • Work collaboratively with children families carers and multi-agency partners to safeguard children and promote their wellbeing.

  • Attend and contribute to conferences meetings and court proceedings as required.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records ensuring compliance with statutory and organisational standards.

  • Participate in a five-week duty cycle being on duty once every five weeks.

  • Work in the office full-time during duty weeks (5 days) and part-time when off duty (23 days).

  • Engage in monthly reflective supervision and professional development activities.

  • Contribute to a positive team culture and support colleagues in delivering high-quality social care services.



REQUIREMENTS

  • Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England (or equivalent).

  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in childrens social care preferably in assessment and child protection.

  • Proven experience conducting statutory assessments and safeguarding children.

  • Strong understanding of child protection legislation statutory guidance and safeguarding frameworks.

  • Ability to manage complex and high-risk cases effectively.

  • Excellent communication interpersonal and report-writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Reflective practice and commitment to professional development.

  • Willingness to participate in a five-week duty cycle.

  • Flexibility to work in-office as required.

  • Eligible for travel and accommodation expenses if living 50 miles or more from Swindon.
