Fife Council Children & Family Service is undergoing a period of redesign to ensure services offer both an early help and support function alongside core statutory services to improve outcomes for children young people and families in Fife.
We are looking for a motivated dynamic and enthusiastic Support Worker to be a part of our newly formed Aftercare Service.
This exciting role involves engaging and supporting young people navigating independence supporting the delivery of groupwork supporting with transitions and other areas of practical support with young people aged 16-26 years old.
The successful candidate will:
Be passionate about participation and ensuring young peoples voice isincluded in service delivery.
Be passionate about supporting young people to navigate independence
Be able to work on a 1:1 basis to provide individual support to young people to improve their outcomes
Establish close & effective working relationships with colleagues across a range of services to provide support to young people their families and caregivers.
Be an integral team member in delivery a quality service.
Be empathetic understanding creative and pro-active with an ability to think out with the box to problem solve
The Person
You will be skilled at building positive relationships and resilience in families work in collaboration with partners e.g. Health Service Education Police and Voluntary Sector Agencies. You will be a supportive team player and work well independently you will have strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong organisation and time-management abilities. You will have the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure and be willing to learn and engage in professional development. You will practice in a way that empowers others.
Experience of working in Children and Families settings is desirable. We are child-focused non-discriminatory strength-based and trauma-informed non-stigmatising and inclusive and we adopt a whole family approach.
Before confirming your appointment you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
