Summary
- The development and delivery of new transport infrastructure are crucial for future economic well-being. This role requires substantial engineering knowledge and expertise in project and program management procurement and commissioning of infrastructure projects. Additionally it involves stakeholder engagement land negotiation transport planning and understanding statutory legal processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership within the Project Delivery Highways Service team to ensure effective project delivery that enhances the transport infrastructure network.
- Advise Place & Economy on highway engineering project and program management procurement community engagement and transport infrastructure improvements.
- Prepare detailed technical reports promptly ensuring clarity stakeholder engagement and clear project requirements timelines and delivery needs.
- Direct and manage project delivery to achieve high-quality objectives forecast delivery times and meet budget targets.
- Lead key project expertise within the Project Delivery Highways Service to ensure the highest level of knowledge and experience in resolving issues and inquiries.
Requirements
- Experience delivering capital projects and understanding the project lifecycle of low to medium complexity highway improvement projects.
- At least 3 years of experience in Highways & Transport in a similar role.
- Proven track record in leading the development planning and implementation of transport infrastructure and related projects.
- Extensive program/project management experience with a reputation for delivery.
- Comprehensive knowledge of technical and contractual requirements related to scheme development construction and maintenance.
- Experience in budget management including local government finance.
- Experience working with elected politicians and ensuring project and service outcomes align with broader political priorities.
Essential Qualifications Required
- HND or degree in Project Management or a relevant discipline or working towards a professional qualification or relevant experience.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- Mondays & Fridays working from the office New Shire Hall Alconbury. Remainder of the week is flexible.
- Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle for site visits.
