Job Summary
The role is responsible for the maintenance installation and commissioning of mechanical plant and equipment to the required standard in your area of responsibility.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Safe achievement of maintenance tasks to support production performance.
- Ensuring that work area is maintained to the required housekeeping standards.
- Ensuring that all safety devices are operational and in use.
- Conducting and participating in Risk assessments
- Attending to breakdowns and emergencies as required.
- Ensuring that Checklists and inspections are up to date and accurate.
- Assessment of employee competencies as required.
- Maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Ensuring that materials spares and equipment are available as required
- Completing job cards and description of work and spares used (PMs)
- Taking responsibility for the proper discipline of any subordinates.
- Reporting any contraventions of the Mining (Management and Safety) Regulations Codes of practice instructions permissions exemptions etc
- Exercising judgment with regards to the replacement of components
- Applying appropriate tools to complete tasks.
- Reporting timely and accurate information.
- Supporting coaching and participating in the training and development of subordinates and apprentices.
- Ensuring proper and adequate on the job training and coaching is provided to subordinates.
Qualifications :
- 5 O Level subjects including Mathematics English and Science
- Apprenticeship trained and Certified Competent as an Artisan (Class 1)
- A minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience .
- Must be familiar with SHEQ Systems.
