Job Description
Operations Manager / Post-Cast Operations Manager / Manufacturing Operations Lead required for a leading engineering and castings manufacturer based in Worcester.
This role oversees all activity after casting ensuring components progress smoothly from ceramic shell removal through to Final Inspection. Youll lead around 35 operatives across multiple work centres driving daily performance maintaining production flow and ensuring output meets weekly and monthly sales targets.
The ideal candidate will bring experience from engineering or manufacturing operations solid knowledge of tooling/CNC/manufacturing processes and proven leadership within a batch-production environment. Youll be highly visible on the shop floor using Lean tools data and structured routines to optimise flow reduce waste and support on-time delivery.

Operations Manager Role
- Manage all post-cast operations from shell removal to Final Inspection
- Execute the daily and weekly production plan to meet sales commitments
- Maintain a consistent presence on the shop floor resolving issues and coordinating workflow
- Run daily SQCDP/production meetings highlighting risks and putting recovery plans in place
- Improve processes reduce waste and enhance production flow across work centres
- Control the movement of work into Subcontract to ensure on-time delivery
- Oversee labour usage attendance timekeeping overtime and shift-related activities
- Ensure H&S compliance and drive 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
- Keep training documentation current and handle disciplinaries when required
Operations Manager Requirements
- Experience in engineering or manufacturing operations (aerospace/automotive/precision preferred)
- At least 5 years leadership experience (supervisory level or above)
- Strong technical understanding of CNC tooling and manufacturing processes
- Hands-on experience with Lean manufacturing and CI methodologies
- Confident with data KPIs ERP systems and production tracking tools
- Commutable to Worcester
