Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity
We have two permanent vacancies at the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level in Accounting Information Systems (AIS). The successful applicant will contribute to teaching and research within the Assurance and Accounting Information Systems discipline area. We are particularly interested in candidates whose scholarship aligns with complements or extends current strengths in areas such as AI and accounting internal control systems white-collar crime public accountability cloud-based accounting systems fraud auditing and assurance and accounting analytics and visualisation.
This is a full time (40 hours per week) permanent position (subject to continuation).
The remuneration for this position is $99788 - $158904 per annum depending on the academic level of appointment.

He kōrero mōu About you
You will be an effective teacher of both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The appointee will contribute to teaching in their specialist area as well as at introductory levels more broadly and will engage in research supervision of research students and publication. You will also be expected to seek research funding engage with the profession and contribute to departmental service.
You will hold or be near completion of a PhD in Accounting Information Systems Finance or a closely related field.
Lecturer candidates will demonstrate evidence of or potential for high-quality research and effective undergraduate teaching.
Senior Lecturer candidates will demonstrate evidence of a developing track record of high-quality research and successful learning and teaching consistent with the Universitys Academic Standards.
Your research programme will complement and build upon the disciplines existing strengths and contribute to the continued development of Accounting Information Systems research within the Department.
It is essential that candidates can teach across Accounting Information Systems and contribute to broader accounting courses. Experience adopting or developing innovative pedagogies and supporting diverse student cohorts will be an advantage.
The Department of Accounting and Finance
The Department is one of the largest in the University of Auckland and is regarded as one of the leading Accounting and Finance groups in the Asia-Pacific region. It has a strong research culture and offers comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across four areas: Financial Accounting Management Accounting Assurance and Accounting Information Systems and Finance. The successful appointee will join the Assurance and Accounting Information Systems area. Faculty members in this area are active in publishing in leading international peer-reviewed journals attracting external grants supervising doctoral students and maintaining links with the profession industry and government.
