To support the expansion of our Labs we are currently looking for an Associate Director (AD) Lab Operations to lead a cross functional lab team and who will be responsible for providing operational oversight for all lab operations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards drives process improvements and fosters a culture of quality and safety. The role will closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research development and clinical objectives while optimizing resources and technology.
The job is based in our facility in Zwijnaarde Belgium. Daily presence on site is expected occasional home working is possible.
Role and Responsibilities:The AD Lab Operations is the primary contact for all lab-related matters ensuring operational continuity and quality across various lab functions such as procurement safety equipment and training. This includes coordinating lab responsibles managing consumables databases and overseeing large equipment investments. The role also involves collaboration with logistics IT support and quality assurance teams.
Skills and Competencies:Essential skills include a thorough understanding of lab safety and compliance knowledge of relevant regulations stakeholder management problem-solving project management and effective communication in a multicultural environment. The AD Lab Operations should be adaptable resilient and able to operate in a fast-paced complex environment while fostering a culture aligned with corporate values.
People Leadership:The AD Lab Operations leads a team of eight direct reports conducting regular one-on-one and team meetings creating weekly plans and supporting training and development. The role requires providing leadership and direction to ensure team performance and alignment.
Education and Experience:Candidates for the AD Lab Operations position should hold a high-level scientific degree (Master or PhD) and have at least 10 years of experience in a biopharmaceutical lab environment.
