Salary: $10589 per hours inclusive of 25% casual loading plus 12% superannuation

About the role:

Join AMSANT at an exciting time for the organisation and the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector in the Northern Territory. Were looking for an Events and Conference Coordinator to help bring our major conferences and sector events to life moments where the entire NT community-controlled health sector comes together to connect learn and set the direction for the future.

In this role youll coordinate AMSANTs flagship Members Conference from start to finish. Youll work closely with an experienced external events manager support speakers and sponsors shape the program and make sure every detail runs smoothly from logistics and registration to cultural protocols and on-the-day delivery. Youll also support AMSANTs media and communications activities around the conference helping showcase the voices and achievements of our member services.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end coordination of AMSANTs annual members conference including planning timelines program development support communications logistics and event delivery.
  • Work closely with an external events manager to ensure clear roles effective collaboration and smooth execution of all conference components.
  • Develop and implement a sponsorship strategy including identifying prospects preparing proposals managing outreach negotiating agreements and fulfilling sponsor commitments.
  • Coordinate engagement with member services presenters partners and internal teams to support program content speakers workshops and cultural protocols.
  • Manage conference budgets procurement reporting and risk management processes in line with AMSANT policies.
  • Oversee registrations travel arrangements for delegates as required venue coordination catering audiovisual requirements and conference materials.
  • Ensure all work is delivered in a culturally safe respectful and strengths-based manner that supports AMSANT member services.
  • Prepare post-event reports sponsorship acquittals feedback summaries and recommendations for improvement.

Selection Requirements

Essential

  • Experience coordinating conferences large meetings or public events.
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to manage timelines stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • High-level communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams member services sponsors and external providers.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with integrity maintain confidentiality and uphold AMSANT values.
  • Understanding of the cultural social and political context of Aboriginal health in the NT.

Desirable

  • Experience working in an Aboriginal controlled organisation.
  • Knowledge of the Northern Territory health sector or the Northern Territory community controlled health sector.
  • Experience managing budgets and procurement processes.
  • Qualifications in event management communications business project management or a related field.

Additional information:

  • Original qualifications must be available for viewing and copies to be kept on personnel file.
  • Applications must have an Ochre Card and a Current Police Check and/or ability to obtain these prior to commencement.
  • Applicants must be able and willing to undertake travel throughout the NT and Interstate (sometimes as a light aircraft passenger) and possess a C class Drivers Licence.
