This is a remote position.
Summary
The Freight Coordinator supports The Delivery Peoples operations across Los Angeles (LAX) Honolulu (HNL) Maui (OGG) Kona (KOA) Kauai (LIH) as well as service lanes to Alaska and Puerto Rico. This role manages day-to-day freight forwarding activities for air ocean and multimodal shipments including quoting vendor coordination documentation and proactive customer communication.
Core Responsibilities
1. Quoting (Air Ocean LTL Multimodal)
Prepare accurate quotes for air freight ocean freight (FCL & LCL) Alaska/Puerto Rico lanes and trucking/LTL.
Request vendor rates from airlines ocean carriers trucking partners and drayage providers.
Compare routing options to present cost-effective solutions.
Enter quotes into TDP internal tools and assist with follow-up communication.
2. Shipment Coordination
Manage shipments from booking through final delivery.
Book space with airlines and steamship lines.
Arrange trucking pickups and drayage.
Track cut-offs flight schedules sailing schedules ETDs/ETAs and delays.
Provide consistent updates to customers and internal teams.
Coordinate closely with TDP offices in LAX HNL OGG KOA and LIH.
3. Vendor & Carrier Management
Communicate with airlines steamship lines LTL carriers drayage providers and CFS/warehouse contacts.
Request rates schedules and capacity availability.
Resolve issues or shipment delays directly with carriers.
Escalate critical concerns to TDP leadership promptly.
4. Customer Support & Communication
Deliver timely and professional updates regarding bookings tracking delays/exceptions and delivery confirmations.
Answer inquiries related to routing transit times pricing and documentation.
Maintain clear and concise communication with both customers and internal teams.
5. Documentation & Data Accuracy
Prepare and verify shipment documents (MAWB/HAWB Bills of Lading invoices packing lists routing instructions).
Ensure PODs and delivery confirmations are received and filed properly.
Enter accurate data into shipment folders and tracking sheets.
6. Systems & Tools Used
Daily workflow includes:

Required Skills & Experience
Experience in U.S. freight forwarding or NVOCC operations.
Strong knowledge of air freight (chargeable weight dimensions routing cut-offs).
Understanding of ocean freight (FCL/LCL accessorials CFS processes).
Experience coordinating LTL/trucking.
Excellent written English and detail-oriented communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple shipments and tight deadlines.
Strong organizational and workflow discipline.
Preferred Background
Experience with trans-Pacific air/ocean freight.
Familiarity with Hawaii Alaska or Puerto Rico freight lanes.
Experience with quoting booking and documentation workflows.
