Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Packaging and Device Engineer located in Beerse Belgium.
A Packaging and Device Engineer is responsible for supporting the manufacturing processes of Liquids & Creams Transdermal Devices and Sterile products produced at Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (IMSC) Beerse ensuring high-quality products and reliable operations. If you are interested in designing introducing and optimizing primary secondary and tertiary packaging materials and device components for pharmaceutical products then this role is perfect for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Support new product introduction with a focus on designing new packaging/device components and validation of device assembly activities (200).
- Lead and support supplier- and site-initiated material changes.
- Perform transportation studies to confirm that the designed packaging material protects the primary package and the finished pharmaceutical product during transport to our patients.
- Complete line trials to confirm that new and changed materials are processable on our packaging lines.
- Coordinate root cause investigations and provide solutions using problem solving skills to improve manufacturing reliability & compliance
- Maintain a partnership with global MSAT for changes to primary packaging and device components.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor degree in a technical field: Engineering Science or Pharmaceutical Sciences. Master degree in Science is a plus.
- Other relevant fields of study are accepted and will be considered.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a pharma/life sciences environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both in spoken and written Dutch and English to be able to effectively collaborate with operators and both global and local colleagues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills
Preferred:
- Experience in working on packaging and device components in a pharmaceutical environment
- Understanding how to perform in cross-functional project & issue management teams and the ability to follow up and deliver on agreed actions
Other:
- Certification or training as an FPX project manager is a plus.
