We are seeking a Behaviour Support Advisor within the Clinical Governance Unit (CGU) to ensure that CPL is working within all legislative requirements regarding restrictive practices and uplifting the capability and capacity for CPL teams to understand positive behaviour support.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaise with the NDIS Commission incidents and behaviour supports team to respond to URP incidents as applicable.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a current register of all Restrictive Practices and PBSPs being used across the organisation as well as clients who may need additional support in the area of behaviour support.
- Contribute to the maintenance of current and accurate calendar of all PBSP renewal and submission dates and communicating requirements to ensure currency.
- Support Area Mangers and/or Service Facilitators to write and submit Short Term Approvals for the use of any restrictive practices that are identified but not yet registered.
- Support Service Facilitators to implement PBSPs including assistance with tasks related risk assessments scheduling training and support with practitioners and gathering and collating data for practitioners or support coordinators.
- Work with relevant Area Managers to ensure adequate training collation and submission of restrictive practice usage data in the NDIS Commission portal is completed by relevant staff
Selection Criteria includes:
- Experience in working with clients who exhibit challenging behaviours.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar industry and knowledge of service providers in the local community.
- Ability to work in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to use initiative and think laterally and strategically as well as well-developed problem solving skills
- A willingness to undertake and facilitate MAYBO training
- Travel throughout South East Queensland will be required.
- A valid C class driving license.
- Blue card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance to start (we can help)
