Job Summary

As a Project/Construction Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of civil engineering projects from design inception to construction completion. The ideal candidate will have a BSc./BEng and/or Civil Engineering with 6-10 years of experience in project management and NEC3 contract within the engineering and construction sectors.

JOB PURPOSE:
Overall management of site operations. Maintain production targets for each site and ensure each site operates within prescribed costs -ordinate and control activities of site staff and ensure all work complies with the quality standards as set out in the contract and company policies and procedures. Compile and submit claims for construction site to the Contracts Manager and Technical Director.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience Requirements:
Relevant Degree or Diploma (BSc/BEng/BTech - Civil Engineering)
SACPCMP registration or similar preferable professional registration
At least 5 years of experience in a similar position in the civil engineering sector (operational experience preferred)
Strong experience in planning and programming (MS Projects and/or Candy)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong Excel skills
Strong organisational analytical and interpersonal skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects

Able to adapt to fit in with company culture
Contractual knowledge understanding and implementation of design and construct projects
A good knowledge and understanding of construction
Commercial awareness
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple construction teams
The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships
Strong mathematics and computer skills
Good budgeting skills The ability to work both on your own and as part of a team
The ability to work to deadlines
Good problem-solving skills
Excellent communication presentation and negotiating skills
An understanding of health and safety standards
