Job Summary

As an Avaloq Technical Business Analyst you will be part of a specialized squad focused on a specific core banking domain. You will work closely with colleagues in both Lisbon and Geneva contributing to the development and enhancement of our core banking solutions.

During the analysis phase:
  • Collaborate with business teams to understand and analyze their requirements.
  • Design and propose effective IT solutions in partnership with development squads and system architects.
  • Draft and communicate clear and concise functional specifications.
  • Define and document test cases to validate the proposed solutions.
During the construction phase:
  • Implement solutions on the Avaloq platform using Avaloq Script (a PL/SQL-derived programming language).
  • Develop automated tests using frameworks such as Gherkin/Cucumber where applicable.
  • Conduct unit and acceptance testing (FAT) utilizing both manual and automated testing methods.

Requirements

Technical skills
  • Experience in programming (any language) PL/SQL is a plus.
  • Familiarity with code review processes (both performing and receiving feedback).
  • Experience in implementing unit and integration tests either manually or through automation.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving code issues.
  • Experience with Eclipse or a similar integrated development environment (IDE).
  • Knowledge of GIT or other source control tools.
  • Basic understanding of SQL.
  • Familiarity with Gherkin/Cucumber is a plus but not mandatory.
Human and professional skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • A keen interest in technology and its application in the financial sector.
Additional Assets:
  • Knowledge of banking systems or financial services is advantageous but not essential.
  • Fluent in English Portuguese and/or French is a plus
